Today we went to Mount vernon. The home of George Washington. It was incredible and so was the heat. the girls were total troopers. The view of his home overlooking the Potomac is amazing and silencing. On the way there Jeff and I red this amazing letter writtin in 1859 by Susan Fenimore Cooper.
If you have 20 mintues read here. It is written as a letter to the Children of America, reminding them of the incredible work of George Washington. This man was amazing and prepared and was prepared his whole life for the work he would do for our country.
I left there wanting to do more, get up earlier, make better use of my time and be proud of something and stand up for it.

The first book my Book Group read this year was the first book written by Mary Higgens Clark called "Mount Vernon Love Story". It is a short easy read of historical fiction about George and Martha Washington. I learned alot! The woman who suggested we read it was from VA and she talked all about her love of Mount Vernon. Really sweet. I realized I didn't know much about Washington so now I am reading "1776". So glad to see your pictures. So jealous of all your doing!!!
guess what you can do it too! come visit!!!
I didn't go read the letter, but I love that it left you wanting to do and be more.
The family photo is cute, how great that you had someone take one of all of you for a change.
