The library of Congress

today we got in the car and headed downtown not knowing where we would go, but just started driving. While looking for parking we drove past the Library of Congress and thought this would be perfect.
It is amazing! It will go on my top 10 list for sure. The inside was beautiful. I didn't get many pictures because the girls were out of control running like the wind.
I had been fascinated by reading a few months ago about when the British burned down part of the Capital it burned all the books in the library of Congress and Thomas Jefferson donated his collection which double the original collection. I was thrilled to see some of those books from that collection. (almost teary... )
It was un riding on the different elevators, the details on everything was fun to see.
My favorite quote on the wall, there are so many was.
"hey are never alone that are accompanied with noble thoughts"
If you tour D.C. I would put this at the top of your list. We can't wait to go back when Caroline and Sally Jane are asleep in the stroller!

That sounds like my kind of place! We didn't make it there last time we were in DC, but next time, whenever that may be, we'll go for sure! Thanks for the recommendation!

Oh, and I'm glad to know that my child isn't the only one who runs around in the most inappropriate places. If I could get one on her, I'd have her wear a leash! ;b

I love it how there are quotes on the buildings and in the walls. I wish more places did that. I would love to see that place some time, it's definitely something I would appreciate.

Once again, I'm amazed at your bravery and patience in taking little kids to all these places.
