Walk around China Town and to the Portrait Gallery
after bowling we decided to walk around the corner to the Smithsonian Portrait Gallery. It was great to see the Verizon center where the Hockey and Basketball teams play. It is right in the middle of China town and on one side the sign is in English and the other side it is in Chinese.
Sally Jane made it clear today that she wanted to walk. She has really only been walking for about a month now and today was her day to walk with the family. She walked right with Jeff for most of our adventures. You could tell she was so proud.
When we got to the Portrait Gallery she loved doing all the walking and oohing and ahhing at the exhibits. (we really love that museum, a must see if you come to the city)
When we left she wanted to crawl down the stairs herself. This is something that she has just learned this past week. It was so cute seeing her go down each stair backwards... again so proud of herself.
I love seeing the girls in a museum. Jeff and I have both noticed how much they seem to like it more. Especially Annie Kate. It has taken a while to learn how to enjoy a museum for a kid. Kids are so used to fast and fun entertainment and it takes more energy to enjoy a museum setting. We didn't stay long but I love seeing the girls have this experience.

It's so fun to see Sally Jane walking, especially in her foofy pink skirt. She's a doll.

I really need to take my kids to more museums, it's great that you're exposing your girls to them so early.
