Georgetown visit #1 of many!

Tonight Jeff and I went on our first date in years. Going out for no other reason than to just go out. And going to Georgetown made it even better. I was so excited to go to Paper Source, but it had closed 15 minutes before we got there. So sad! Check out the sign in the front Window.
So we walked the streets, had major New Orleans flash backs seeing La Madeline.
We ate at Uno's and did a little shopping at The Body shop. It was a great night. Our anniversary is next week and I think we might head back for dinner at this little italian resturant.
What was funny about tonight, is I was more excited about seeing the only surrviving building in the district pre revolutionary war more than any store or shop. I have turned into a history freak! I love it! (and Jeff's pocket book is thrilled too!)

I love Paper Source, they have the cutest stuff ever (it's a little pricy though, so I have only purchased things when I was feeling particularly rich) and they always have AMAZING window displays. I have pictures of one particular display of various paper animals including a hippo and giraffe (I think the pictures are on in my smugmug gallery, you may have seen them already...). Very neat.

Next time you're down there, stop at the bakery called Furins (at 28th and M), they have delicious cookies, the almond ones are my favorite, and their cakes are to die for.

I would have been crushed if I had gotten to Paper Source and found it closed! Jeff was probably relieved though eh? (Both financially and boredom-wise.)

I hope you get down there again for your anniversary and can have some time to shop. I love that store!

Who watched the girls when you two went out? That must have been an unfamiliar treat to be alone with Jeff after all these years of medical school, babies, and the busyness of life. How great that you got to go out--the only thing missing from your pictures were some of the two of you!
