Great Falls, Maryland

Today we went to Great Falls on the Maryland side. It was beautiful! Because it is a National Park we were able to get our book stamped. The falls were beautiful, the girls loved climbing on the rocks.

The Great Falls tavern was awesome to see. All these places we keep visiting I just thing of who else has walked on these grounds. Some fun trivia about the tavern.

For 25 cents overnight guests could reserve a bunk in the ladies' or the men's quarters on the second floor. Late-comers often slept on the floor or crawled into bed with someone else. The third floor attic served as "the honeymoon suite" and privacy could be secured for those with 50 cents and a marriage certificate.

It was a beautiful day, we will go back for sure, but next time bring our bikes.
